For my birthday I always like celebrating it by doing an activity or something I haven’t done before. This year since I was in California for my birthday and not the usual New York, I celebrated it by going to Universal Studios for the first time. The staff gave me buttons to wear representing that I was a first-time visitor and that it was my birthday. Having people you’ve never met wish you happy birthday all day was strange and surprising but still a wonderful feeling. Since I visited on a weekday the lines for the rides weren’t long so I was able to get on most of the rides.
Being a movie and tv fan, my favorite ride was the Studio Tour which is a tram that takes you around the studio’s backlot. You ride past sound stages that were used for popular TV shows and movies. It was cool to see Bates Motel from the famous Alfred Hitchcock movie Psycho. You also get to travel past cars that were used in movies such as Fast and the Furious and Jurassic Park. You get to see famous towns from well-known movies like Amity Island from Jaws, Whoville from The Grinch and also see the New York, Mexico, and European street sets. You also get to see up close and personal the plane crash site from War of the Worlds. The special effects on the tour make you a part of movie magic. You experience an earthquake, a flood and you get to witness a shark attack. The most enjoyable part of the tour is the 4D attractions. You end up in a serious car chase from Fast and the Furious and in the middle of a jungle watching King Kong fight dinosaurs. Major fun!!
The other attractions at the park were awesome as well. Being a fan of The Walking Dead the walk-through tour attraction of the show was scary fun. I also enjoyed being in Springfield surround by The Simpsons’ characters. When I saw Sideshow Bob I blushed like a schoolgirl. Being immersed in the world of Harry Potter was cool as well. Seeing people with their wands and cloaks trying to perform spells and unlock doors without touching them was very amusing. The Transformers and The Mummy 3D rollercoaster rides were my favorite. I had a truly amazing time and will do it all over again in a heartbeat. If you love movies and television like I do (duh I’m an actor right) this is the theme park for you.
