WORKING ON SIXTH AVENUE

Before I mention Avenue Six Studios, I have to mention how I got there. I BOOKED IT!  A commercial spot for the American Red Cross organization.  It was the first time I auditioned for Heather Lynn Casting and I have to say it was an interesting experience, in a good way of course.  It was the first time I was in a waiting room with lots of children.  These kids amazed me.  They were so calm and relaxed. They were talking and laughing with their siblings and parents, eating fast food, and coloring in their coloring books.  I on the other hand was a little nervous, very much in my head, holding the sides in my hand hoping, praying that I don’t screw up my lines.  I’m sitting there watching these kids wishing I could be as confident as they are.  They had a freedom about themselves that I just admired.  When I was finally called in I’m glad I was able to suppress my nerves and give a good performance.  I have to thank the casting directors in the room.  They were so nice and fun, I’m sure that’s what helped me relax and led to me having a great audition.

We shot the commercial at Sixth Avenue Studios.  I got lucky that the studio wasn’t too far from home, I didn’t even have to get on the freeway.  The studio is totally bigger than what it looks like on the outside.  They have four main stages and the way the production team decorated the sets were amazing.  It’s a wonderful facility and I hope to work there again.
