I met John Frank Levey today, a well-known casting director. He’s a cool guy and he’s a native New Yorker like me. Well, I’m from the better borough of Brooklyn of course and he is from the Bronx. We traded stories of growing up in our beloved New York City. We met at a Casting Director workshop hosted by Actors Advantage. In the past he has cast television shows ER and The West Wing, now he currently casts for Shameless and Southland. I was presented with some sides and during my reading, he chuckled a couple of times. If I make you laugh, I take that as a good sign. For an actor, today was a great way to get the year started. Here’s to more good actor-y things to come.
