I’m Hearing Voices Again

Earlier this month I joined the play “Voices of the Un-heard”  again for its second run.  This time the show is taking place at the beautiful Barnsdall Theatre.  It’s a play with powerful monologues, entertaining dance, and inspiring music that celebrates the human spirit’s ability to get up after being knocked down!  It’s a story about Emma, a lawyer from South Los Angeles, and her determination to help everyone who crosses her path in any way she can.  You hear from all the clients she has helped and how she has changed their lives forever.  It’s a story about overcoming obstacles on your path.

I was excited this time around to take part in the play because I was bringing to life a whole new character.  I was happy to play the homeless woman in the first run but this time I played Tanya, a woman physically abused by her husband who runs to Emma for help in fear of him returning to her home.  Being a part of this production again was so much fun. I was happy to be playing on a bigger stage at the Barnsdall and having a makeup artist for the women backstage, all made for a great time.  Seeing all the old cast mates and meeting the new ones made it a simply wonderful experience.
